Post (almost) exclusively non-political One time on FB like 10 years ago, I re-posted what I thought was an image of a deer with antlers made to look like they spelled out "BAMA SUCKS". Only, they didn't spell out "BAMA SUCKS"... they actually spelled out "OBAMA SUCKS". I got several comments on that one and someone in my family actually blocked me on FB and I haven't spoken to them since (not that we were close to begin with). So, that was probably my only political post ever, and it was completely unintentional! |

Being completely serious, I think a lot of our societal rot and polarization can be traced directly to Facebook and Twitter.

We used to not know what the vast majority of our friends and acquaintances thought about politics or government or social issues and then even if we did it didn't affect whether we were friendly with them or not. It is one of the reasons I have tried to guard the 'no politics' rule on this board. I would much prefer to dislike you because of how you feel about mid range jumpers.... |
