We aren’t in trouble as of today. I can confidently say that. This is a statement I can say with or without Awaka coming back.

I heard two points on Aidoo that seemed to both be believable, but also somewhat in opposition to each other. One was that Aidoo was upset over the last couple games, how the staff handled it, and how he was ripped on social media (reference Mrs Mashack tweet). I've also heard he overplayed his NIL hand after Awaka went into portal. I guess both of those could be true. They came from two different people who would have reason to know. I think the first seems most likely. Also seems possible, maybe even likely, that one of Awaka or Aidoo still returns and Awaka is the more likely. BChilds might be able to shed more light and straighten out with more detail. Yeah. Aidoo is a social media star and he was unjustly berated. I don’t know about NIL interworkings. Awaka was transferring for playing time he was fine with his NIL. Bigs with Aidoo‘s skills and production deserve a pretty penny, I doubt he overplayed his hand but it’s possible.

1. People who would post on a player's social media page or comment on their posts just to drag them publicly are just awful people who should be shunned.
2. If I was a professional athlete (and anyone who gets paid to play their sport is a professional athlete) I would never, ever, read the comments (seriously.... don't read the comments) or engage anyone who wanted to criticize me on social media.
Who cares what any of those people say?

He does not strike me as someone who can take a lot of heat, and getting benched for a freshman and roasted on social media probably had a pretty big effect on him.

But the ones who respond and mix it up with fans are worse. You’re not doing your child any favors. Just be a parent and support your kid, teach them to ignore naysayers and model maturity yourself.

JMO but if you can stay in the top 15 you always got a shot at the Elite 8 and thus the Final Four, as we all say “It just depends on the matchup”. You have peaked my interest on the players we may ultimately get, at least April will be interesting

It’s probably a combination but JMO I lean more to the NIL. If it was benching and negative social media I don’t know why he waited over a week to pull the trigger and go through the year end evaluation meeting, which he may have skipped for all I know. If true he played the NIL card last year and won, he played this year and lost

I don’t like the idea of ZZ being the only one on the roster. And I doubt any true freshman will be ready anyway. So I hope we’re going after a good PG, hopefully young enough that coming in behind ZZ won’t turn him away.

The overplaying NIL hand doesn't make sense to me. I didn't get that from somebody with NIL insight, and it seemed to not make sense. Sounds like the door is open for Awaka to return and a decent shot it happens, but not guaranteed. I think he has the lowest ceiling of our bigs, but I think he's a good piece to have.

For us, we could be the overall #1 seed by a mile and I wouldn’t believe we’d make the FF until I saw it.
