Just win, baby. I don't care what the background, history, heritage, or favorite vegetable of who's in charge is/are, as long as his/her commitment is firmly to Tennessee. Excellent point and let’s consider that Neyland, Dickey, Heupel, Mears, Pearl, Barnes, Summitt, Vitello and some other successful UT coaches were not former UT players. And at the same time, not only were they successful, but their blood runneth orange and they introduced many ongoing traditions associated with UT sports. I agree, but a coach like Summit engenders strong emotions and loyalty in supporters, kind of like Bryant and Wooden. Takes a long time to get over that. Also, the way she left - illness and before her time- made it a lot tougher. Finally, the folks with her from the beginning, feel like it is “their” program. It will have to be pried from some cold, expired fingers.

So, there has been more LV stuff on my twitter feed of late and there really isn't anything else going on so I have paid attention to some of the back and forth... and I think that LV fans may actually be a cult.

That, plus she fired one of the assistants because, um, that is what every new coach does and they are at each other over it.

Assuming that they don’t like the hire. Several on The Summitt were opposed to the decision to remove Harper, so they were likely to oppose any hire. There is just a group that is committed to the idea that the coach has to have ties to Summitt (the same thing Bama fans went through for many years after Bear Bryant’s passing), so they will brook no criticisms of Warlick or Harper.
