Thanks, pdl. You’re a good man and, as Flannery O’Connor wrote, “A Good Man is Hard to Find.”

BTW, why did they shut Hoopsville down? It had been around since near the beginning of the Internet. I think Chuck founded Gridscape in 1993. Actually, maybe the Hoopsville room was formed a year or three later.
I think this will be a much better arrangement. I was losing interest in the Scout/247 boards.

I was losing interest in the Scout/247 boards. they just didn't want to fool with it, plus I don't think they wanted another free board on their site. Its a shame, really. but I think it had been in the works since they bought Scout.

Thanks, pdl. You’re a good man and, as Flannery O’Connor wrote, “A Good Man is Hard to Find.” I have found a fellow O'Connor fan! I have read everything she wrote, but it wasn't until I read her discussions ABOUT writing, particularly southern writing, that I began to finally understand Southern Gothic literature. And she is also the speaker of one of my favorite quotes: "The South, if not Christ-centered, is most certainly Christ-haunted."

I live in the ATL area and I keep meaning to get down to Milledgeville sometime to see if there are any sites dedicated to her work. She was one of a kind as a writer. I'll have to look up those discussions about writing.

You can find the Complete Works compilation (I'm blanking on the publisher right now) and in the back after all the novels and short stories is a section of other writings (including some letters if I recall). Also, if you get to her home over there, I believe they still have peacocks on the grounds like they did when she lived there.

This is the kind of "Masterpiece Theater of the Internet" stuff that made Hoopsville one of the class joints among sports boards!

Has anyone contacted HK Vol about the new board? I just sent him a message on 247, but several folks have missed messages on there with the killing of the old board so if anyone knows another way to contact him, fire away!
