I don’t know how I forgot Tobias . He has had a good career but is hated by Philly fans because of the big salary he got . It seems to me the NBA general managers as a whole are bad at the draft and routinely over pay. Of course the player needs to max out while they can . You sure aren’t rewarded for loyalty . Heath Shuler held out early in his career. Then, after a foot injury that wouldn’t fully heal impacted him, as well as his just not meeting expectations, the holdout for $ came back to bite him.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement assures that some players on every team will be overpaid. The salary cap for 2024-25 is over $140million. That money has to be split up among the players making the roster as well as any of the additional exceptions to the rule. As many of the roster spot salaries are dictated by a rookie scale or an All-Star player scale etc, there is plenty of money to spread around to players you and I know nothing about. For example, Tobias Harris is making over $25million a year, but he is a borderline All-Star who is averaging 16 points, 6 rebounds a game. You can say that's overpaying for Tobias, but look at the Piston's roster. Isaiah Stewart is averaging 21 minutes and 6 points a game but yet he is making over $15million a year. Take any random NBA roster and you will find egregious examples of underperforming players making big bank. For instance, have you ever heard of Jakob Poeltl (8 points a game) or Bruce Brown (9 points a game) of the Toronto Raptors? They are making $19,500,000 and $23,000,000 respectively. My parents gifted me with the DNA to get through grad school but if they had really wanted to do me a favor, they would have passed on the DNA for quick hands and feet, a soaring leap and a sweet jump shot...

Kennedy has been close to a complete flameout. Should have come back. Man, how good would that 2023 team have been with him at the point? The best we’d have ever had, in all honesty.
