Is John doing the play by play down there? Is Kesling not there? I know this is his last season, but I figured he'd be on this trip. |

As per official announcement from UT... "The Vol Network and Tennessee Athletics announced on Thursday that renowned announcer Bob Kesling will retire as the Voice of the Vols after the 2024-25 men's basketball season."
Wilkerson has filled in as the play by play announcer several times in the past and done an excellent job. I would not be surprised if the powers-that-be decide to name ______________ (fill in the blank) for football duties, and Wilkerson for the basketball play by play duties. I like Mike Keith but can do without his manufactured screaming. I have no desire to have him take over the basketball broadcasts. As far as I know, he has never done basketball and its not in his background of experience. Vol basketball fans deserve better than to have a football guy learn on the job. Might be worth mentioning that John Ward was the basketball play by play announcer for a couple of years before he was also assigned the football broadcast.

Not following - this is BK's last season in football only? He'll keep doing the basketball broadcasts? It may be that, according to Kesling's contract, if football and basketball conflict, football has precedence. Kesling will continue to broadcast basketball to the end of this season. Agree with others that John Wilkerson would be an excellent hoops announcer. |

I have enjoyed Wilkerson’s baseball PBP for years. Does he have basketball PBP in his background? I’m sure if he is handed the reins, it will be because they have confidence in his ability to do it. I just wondered if he had done hoops before. |
