You guys will be upset at who has the best odds to win ROY. Don't say Edey. I'm guessing it's a Wildcat. Edey followed by Sheppard

Dalton is 5-24 from three so far this pre-season. Hitting the three is probably his best path to a regular rotation spot as a rookie, so it needs to improve. But I also think it will.

It would be a major disappointing surprise if DK doesn't hit well from beyond the arc. But I could see him struggling early on just because of better athletes and length defending him. He may have to be a bit more selective with it, or be ready to shot fake and put it on the floor to drive and shoot or find the open guy.

His last game really tanked that number. I think he was 2-12 or something close to that. I doubt it will be a trend. He looked really good in all other aspects. Snagged 11 rebounds with 3 assists and played respectable D against NBA superstars. He definitely looked like he belonged. Lakers fans love him so far.

5-13 from three against the Warriors last night. Almost all of it in garbage time with the Lakers down big, but it looked like a classic Dalton heater from the replay I saw.

1-5 from 3 ast night with no other stats. Ouch. If he’s struggling at mid season of the regular season, I’ll be more concerned. But even then I think his upside is good. He’ll adjust to a higher level of competition. It may take some time.

Teams are shuffling guys around, looking at combinations, and deciding who to keep, trade, etc. If DK isn't starting a week or so into the regular season, that might be time to be concerned.

As I understand he is fighting for a rotation spot.

As I understand he is fighting for a rotation spot. On that team I would think he’s got a good shot.

1-5 from 3 ast night with no other stats. Ouch. I texted this prematurely. Went off in garbage time and ended with 19 points and 2 rebounds.

DK lit it up in an overtime win against the Suns on Thursday night. 35 points, 8 of 13 on 3 pointers, to go with 7 rebounds. The question is not whether he is in the rotation, it’s whether he will be a starter by the All-Star break…
