I can't imagine how rich I would have to be before I would donate the kind of dollars it would take so my favorite CBB team could have a highly ranked freshman sitting the bench making $40k a month. The collectives are scams , why a person in the general public would fund a company’s marketing budget in addition to paying to consume a product or service is beyond me

Tobe deserves coin. I don’t know what guys are making. But I do know 2-4 million is about the price to fill out a good roster. “Deserves” to me is relative in this environment. fair.

Apparently DK was making $60k per month towards the end of the season lol. Started off around $10k and then obviously a lot more people started reaching out. Those ads he was doing during the tournament had to be big money.

You guys are making me feel bad about my $20 a month to Spyre... Hell, they’re making me feel bad about paying my cable bill. I just prefer to know how I'm getting ripped off up front. Sure I'll pay the $300 to ticketmaster for crappy seats and their 25% fake fees, because at least they tell me up front I'm getting ripped off. Youtube TV charges me for the 179 channels I'm never going to watch. But I know that going in so I'm content paying them a ridiculous fee despite only ever watching 4 channels (ESPN, SECN, ESPN 2, ESPNU). But if I gave the collective $30, maybe they'd give that money to Mashack (which sure, I'd be happy about)? But if they gave it to Freddie, who is now gone, that wouldn't make me very happy. I want ultimate control of how I get ripped off, not leave it in someone else's hands!

This actually begs the question, does one have any control how their donation is allocated? For example, I know we can designate a school donation to only go to the Math department or the Engineering department, etc.
Can we donate to a collective and say "I only want this money used for the men's basketball program" or "I only want this used for Tobe Awake." I assume no way, esp for individual players, but I've not thought much about it or looked into it.

I feel sure that the big donors are going to want to say at least which program gets their money. If you’re someone donating $25/month (and I’m not for reasons you’ve already covered), then you may not have a ton of say. JMO.
