…reminds me a little of admiral.
Great spot up shooter. Good finisher at the rim. Big build. But not a slasher really, more of an opportunist and rebounder for his paint points.

I’m excited about him. He drains open 3s, which is already an improvement for us.

As always, I want to see how his performance at a lower level of comp translates in big boy ball. But I like his shooting/scoring numbers and he may be another true three level guy. I won’t have any expectations of anyone being another Knecht, but this guy might fill a big role.

I have seen zero clips of him slashing or handling the ball over the pick and roll. DK’s film was full of him in pnr and iso situations, just like Tennessee used him. Now granted, he didn’t look as good in those as he did for us. RB improved his game dramatically. But he was doing the same stuff he always had, just better. Dubar isn’t an iso guy on film. Don’t think Knecht, think Schofield. He’s a spot up 3 guy with a big body who can crash the board and occasionally post up. He can absolutely put the ball in the net, which is rare and invaluable and the main skill in basketball. But dont expect him to fill the DK role, he’s a different style of player

But I do think he can score at all three levels, which is valuable. He’s just not going to be doing a lot of driving to the rim.

Think of all the wide open looks James missed or passed up…
Dubar should be seeing a lot of those same looks.

Maybe, but I have to think Admiral would have terrorized - literally- whatever league Hofstra is in.

Maybe, but I have to think Admiral would I’d have terrorized - literally- whatever league Hofstra is in. That’s definitely fair. I only meant they play a similar style of game, not that one is as good as the other. Aside: that video does a good job showing that AD really had a nice looking shot, in terms of form and ball rotation. No wonder he hit 42% from deep his senior year.

I had forgotten he hit at that rate. I’ll have to look up his volume, but I think it was at least a pretty fair amount of attempts.

Lamonte was a killer and Kyle was the best center, for my money, in the Barnes era. Purdue 🤬!

That team was the closest thing to a championship roster that I’ve ever seen at UT. And in the sweet 16, I thought we actually played an A game, offensively at least. And we still lost. It just never works out for us.

And it was because a scrub named Ryan Cline, who is probably a sales associate at Enterprise now, went nuclear red hot from 3. Game of his freaking life similar to that goofy guy who torched Kentucky this year.
