There's almost no point in keeping a full roster in the portal times. You can't hold kids on the bench and let them develop in the system. You can really only hold onto however many kids you think you will actually give minutes too and just hope for very few injuries.
Side note: I might be the only one, but I kind of love the portal madness. As a team with high status now, thanks to Barnes, we can pretty much upgrade any position every year if we want. It would definitely suck for mid major fans though...

I like the concept of the portal, I don't love it to this extent. It has to have some kind of guard rails. The argument used to be, well why is it ok for a coach to up and leave after the season, but the players are locked in to 1 school? But coaches aren't leaving every single year to coach a new team.
Totally agree on roster size. What does it even matter who your 11-13 players are anymore? They're not going to stay to develop, so why even waste time on them?
