Pope may turn out to be great, but they blasted out that they had a top 3 of Hurley, Drew and Donovan. There is a continent worth of coaches between Mark Pope and those 3.

Very glad they didn’t get Oats or Hurley. I may just have to visit Rupp Rafters tonight.

UK basketball = UT football
Reading Rupp Rafters is like reading stuff from our fans. This is their Dooley hire.

Have really enjoyed KY bball over the last handful of years more than ever in my life. Their spoiled fans are just miserable. A few friends that are big fans have been so quiet and polite for a while now which has been nice. Humble pie has been a top seller in the bluegrass state. And the "Go Big Blue" (copied/stolen) chants have been less and less common/noticable. May Pope continue to bless this new wildcat attitude.

I'm far, far more interested in the Kim Caldwell hire than the Mark Pope hire... and think Kim is a much better hire. Rather than Tennessee and Derek Dooley, I liken it to Arkansas and their John Pelphrey hire several years ago.

Matt Jones apparently said Kentucky’s top 2 choices were Dan Hurley and Scott Drew, and he’d be shocked if they made it past those two. He was also making fun of Louisville for getting rejected by Drew a couple of weeks ago. This is very entertaining.

Wait, he's 51?? I thought he was least an up and comer... He was 110-52 in five years at BYU, so he’s not a bad coach. But will he be able to succeed in the SEC? He’ll have resources at his disposal talent-wise, so I don’t think the Cats will stink. But will they live up to expectations? I’d be shocked.
