Good luck to him. He seems like a genuinely nice kid. I hope he continues to mature and excels wherever he lands.

Not sure where he fit in.
I think he would look to score more than JJJ and might have tried to dunk more than twice a year.

Not a surprise. Will be interested in where he lands.

I'm sorry to see him go. He seemed like a good kid but he got in Barnes's doghouse. I think he would have been good at the 4.

I see shots like the picture at the head of this article and every shot of the Vol sideline and see a kid who really loves being a UT basketball player. I get that he might have taken longer than we might want to get in line with the program, and that Barnes felt he needed some extra discipline. That said, Barnes has said that since his suspension he had done everything asked of him. Why then, if he was even nearly as talented as many around the program said he was, couldn't have Barnes found enough minutes for him to keep him interested in getting better and staying with the program? I fully expect him to somewhere else--likely a mid-major but maybe not--and just blowing up for some other program. Would also have loved to have Freddie and Tobe stay; just have to hope the Vols really clean up in the portal themselves.
