I’m sure we’ll know soon enough, but what are some thoughts on this board about the likelihood that he sticks around vs. leaving (either by his own choice or by encouragement from CRB)?
It seems like an almost lock that he’s gone, but maybe we’re all just assuming something that isn’t true.

This isn’t a condemnation of anyone in the deal, but both he and Dilione have been here two years without making any mark. I can see why both would want a fresh start somewhere else.

Both of those are real mysteries to me. I can sort of understand that Freddie was held back by backing up an All-Star iron man at PG and also had plantar fasciitis, a possibly chronic injury that can be devastating to a basketball player. DJ seems a bit more complicated to me. On the one hand, everybody says he is possibly the best athlete on the squad. He seems fully engaged on the bench and everybody seems to like him. He was probably caught in an even worse numbers crunch than Freddie was. I do seem to remember that he was in some academic difficulty earlier, but there must be some reason why they kept him on the squad. Scholarships are only for a year at a time, so if they just didn't want him or see a future for him, he could have been dismissed at any time.

Didn't Freddie graduate and enroll early? Wouldn't he really have been a freshman this season if he hadn't? And DJ... though it seems he's been here forever to me... still has three years of eligibility left. In other words, both are still young. I wouldn't be surprised to see both transfer, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see both play big roles next season for the Vols.

Jefferson was in CRB doghouse for academics this season. He seems like a good kid and according to Basilio loves TN. Watching him in warm-ups he looks to be very talented. I think he would be a good #4.

Practice player if he stays. The viability of keeping 13 high level players happy in the portal era is insane.
