I keep thinking about how if the one guy I thought would be the one to drag us into our first Final Four had shot just marginally better, we'd be there right now.
I'm sure he's hurting the worst of all of us, because he knows he's so much better than that performance.
Good thing for him is that he has another year to right the ship. And my confidence in him is sky high.

I wonder if his legs were gone. Played every minute of a big game a day and a half before. And played all 40 vs. Texas.

I said last year that he was the key to a deep run, and the gods didn't like it and injured him.
But I was right and he got us to an EE this year.
That's all ima say about that, other than, Thank you Zakai.

And my confidence in him is sky high. I'm with ya on confidence in him, but... I thought he played pretty well... nine pts, eight assists, and four rebounds from the PG position is pretty good, and of course he's always excellent on defense. Yeah, maybe he was worn down a bit, but I maintain that what really held us back is the same thing that held us back all year from being the team we should have been, and that's Santi not scoring. And particularly in the Purdue game getting a total of four points and six rebounds from the Aidoo/Awaka/Estrella combo. Jonas had a particularly bad game.

Yeah, I don't think it was ZZ's fault by any means. I was just expecting him to drag us through despite everyone else's shortcomings...but that's a lot to ask. I still think he was/is capable of it though.

Simple. He forgot what his role was. Just a few trips down the floor but every possession counts.
It's easy to look back and see "Shoulda" now .
We had a bunch of weaknesses on this team. People learned to expose them

ZZ didn’t lose the Purdue game but he certainly could’ve won that game with better shooting …..somewhere close to his norm would’ve been more than enough
