In his one season on The Hill, DK made the team a lot of fun to watch. He had a ton of huge games, was the SEC POY and went out like a warrior today. He had the second highest point total in a single season of any Vol.
It was a privilege to see him in orange, even for one year. I hate to see DK's Vol career end.
JJJ and Santi have received a lot of praise, and a lot of criticism. And I'll miss them. But Knecht was at a very different level and we won't see his like again any time soon.

Lot of pressure on him.

And to add, 37 points is the most scored by a Tennessee player in an NCAAT game.

Once in a lifetime player. He took us as far as he could. He needed help and got very little of it.

As you may know, I don't post much, though I enjoy the hell out of this site, win or lose. But what a player!! So fun to watch this season with him in the Tennessee Jersey. The fact is, we didn't have the team around him to win the whole thing. I can accept that, I don't have to like it, but I can accept it.

I think we were close to having enough around him. I would have rather played any matchup other than Edey + refs today. I thought that maybe the combination of the first game being an abomination and the high profile of the elite 8 might straighten things out a bit, but no, not really. There is zero accountability for NCAA officials, and they act like it.

The addition of Knecht caused a switch in dynamics that was never fully figured out , should’ve freed Santi up to be a high teens points per game scorer but instead wiped him off the face of the SEC landscape…..actually winning the SEC with slightly off dynamic was a great feat

I’ve watched a lot of great Vol players over the years including Widby, Grunfeld, Johnson, Ellis, Houston, Lofton, and Williams. Only two players, King and Knecht, gave me frequent “Oh my gosh I can’t believe I saw that” moments. I actually never thought I would see anyone in Orange play at Bernard King’s level, but I did! Thank you DK and best wishes at the next level. A truly amazing player.

He was really good in the NBA.

I consider myself very lucky to have witnessed the remarkable feats of those two young men on the basketball court, because I got to see two once in a lifetime Vol players proudly wear the orange.
