Zander Sechrist did a great job, throwing 6 shutout innings. Nate Snead came in and threw 3 shutout innings. Georgia had 6 hits and no runs.
The Vols move to 24-5 overall, 5-4 in the SEC.
UT plays three at Auburn next weekend, and then comes home to host Alabama A&M on Tues, Apr. 9th, before hosting LSU at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

UT plated two in the 4th on a leadoff double by Tears, a single by Dreiling that moved Tears to 3B, a steal of 2B by Dreiling, a balk that scored Tears and moved Dreiling to 3B, and a sac fly that scored Dreiling.
It's 2-0 Vols, we just held Georgia scoreless in the T5 and the Vols are now batting in the bottom half.

Moore, Burke and Bargo lead off the 5th for UT:
Moore grounds out, 6-3. Burke grounds out, 6-3 Bargo HOMER! It's 3-0 Vols. Tears singled Dreiling doubled Curley grounds out, 4-3.
But UT leads, 3-0.

Georgia gets nothing in the T6.
In the B6, Stark hits a two out double. Moore K's on a full count, so we head to the top of the 7th, still 3-0 Vols.
Georgia's Condon is 0-3 so far. I don't know how long we can go without him going off.

Sechrist pitched 6 shutout innings. Great job.
Snead is in now after Sechrist gave up a leadoff single, and immediately got a double play 4-6-3. The next guy flies out, and the Vols come to bat in the 7th.

Nothing for Georgia in the T7
Vols get a leadoff single from Burke, then a flyout (Bargo) and K (Tears). Dreiling up with 2 outs - doubles, Burke to 3B. Curley walks Chapman HBP, driving in a run, 4-0 Vols. Ensley doubles to LF, scoring Dreiling and Curly, 6-0 Vols. Stark grounds out, 2-3.
But after 7 innings the Vols lead, 6-0.

Georgia has two guys on, with one out, in the top of the 8th. Snead is pitching to Condon... Snead gets a big K! Two outs.
But the Dawgs have two more homer threats behind Condon.
Slate Alford flies out to RF, and Snead gets out of trouble. It remains 6-0 UT.
The Vols are coming to bat in the B8.

The top of the order is up: Moore, Burke and Bargo.
Moore hits a grounder to 3B, but a throwing error gets him on. Burke K's Bargo K's Tears singles and drives in Moore, 7-0 Vols. Dreiling walks Curley K's
But the Vols add an insurance run and lead, 7-0, heading to the top of the 9th.

FWIW, Auburn is 1-8 in the SEC so far, but that's a bit misleading. After their first two games in the opening series at Vandy (lost by run rule and then by 8 runs), their games have been close. They lost to Vandy in game 3 by 3 runs. Then they won 1/3 against #1 Arkansas, losing two games by 1 run each, and winning the third game by 2. And they got swept at A&M this weekend, but lost by 2, 4 and 1 (that one in 12 innings).
So my point is only that they are not as bad as that SEC record suggests.
