Since the prediction... Santi. 11-25. 44% Gainey. 6-18. 33% As of game at Rupp. Santi has been a steady producer for several games. He’s gotten comfortable with his role. Gainey is at least okay now, though he didn’t shoot well last night.

I thought the first game at Rupp might be too big of a stage for Gainey. I am actually beginning to hold out some hope for him having a good second year at a power 5 after a tough adjustment.

after LSU
Santi 11-26 42.3% Gainey 9-24 37.5%
I believe both are at the predicted shooting percentages as of today.

Santi 12-32. 37.5% Gainey 11-31. 35.4%
Maybe the bigger problem is Santi has 1 more 3PA than a bench guy

I said in the game thread I think that it doesn't really help us much if he hits 40% the rest of the way but gets there by taking 2 or 3 attempts per game. He has to quit passing up open looks. I can't believe CRB either hasn't said anything to him or hasn't gotten through to him.

Would it make anybody feel better if Sani has an undisclosed injury in the carpal vicinity that Barnes is keeping under wraps? 'Cause about a week ago I heard a thing from a guy.
Bchilds, could you make a cryptic comment on the subject?

I mean, I would be stunned if he doesn't. Something always happens to our senior basketball players. Carpal tunnel like symptoms? Really? Stupid phones.

Well if that's the case it would explain a lot, though he is hitting around his regular % now so I'm not sure why he'd be able to hit at that rate but just doesn't want to take the open looks. But if he just doesn't trust his shot for that reason, it would definitely explain the mystery. As to making people feel better, I'm not sure why that would be the case. I assume the guy you heard this from is close to the program?

I somewhat suspect this may be a blue font post just because I thought the same thing about unspecified injury way back and I’m certainly not in the know. Then Smyra convinced me that he was “mentally fried”. I don’t have a clue but I still tend to believe we will all find out something at season end that has effected his play

I just heard wrist issue, and didn't sound like a sprain. My guess would be something like tendonitis, or completely bogus.
I don't think the guy is as connected as he thinks, but he's been right a few times. Usually at about the same time bchilds hints at something. Hence my question for bchilds.
