Ok, I know its early and that I am showing my colors as a overgrown kid waking up at 5am on Christmas morning... but, that is sort of what I am.
Anyway. rampant optimism abounds as the Vols get their NCAAT run started. The guy who picks college football picks for ESPn has the Vols in his final four, Lunardi says he has the Vols in his final four, Kyle Tucker and Nicole Auerbach at the Athletic... ditto. Auerbach has the Vols as national champs. Will Warren... Vols as national runner up, heck, even John Clay and another guy at the Herald Leader have UT in the final four - but they are probably just trying to get clicks from the blue people.
But you get the picture. I will be moderately surprised if aliens don't abduct every Vol scholarship player on the ride over to Gainbridge Fieldhouse this morning. That or Armageddon is happening tomorrow, or... and I wish I hadn't even had this thought... the Vols do perform exactly like all of these pundits predict and the tourney gets shut down by some super virulent COVID variant that sweeps through each host city.
While I wait patiently for whatever groin kick is coming, I can't wait to get this tourney started. I am officially at the "Vols by 150" stage of pregame preparations.

I can only think of 2 "comfortable" NCAA tourney games for us. Wright St a few years ago and Long Beach St in the Pearl years. Maybe I'm forgetting one or 2, but every other game that comes to mind involved biting off every finger nail, screaming in anger/agony, and sweating through my clothes. Please, please, please let today be a Vols blowout!

I like our guys on Roddy. BHH on him early will bother him with the length. Then I imagine we'll see a combo of BHH, JJJ, and Fulk. |

It sounds to me like the two CBS guys doing the UM game today are making it out like the missing PG is the only way the Wolverines might lose today. And obviously his absence is big. But they don't seem interested in acknowledging that UM was 17-14 before he suffered a concussion in practice. |

Nobody who appears to be trying to transition into Scott Van Pelt. No one who I am thinking to myself... 'who is that'?
Plus, love hearing Ian Eagle on the call.
