Still wild to see Tennessee in the recruiting mix with the likes of Duke, Kentucky, Gonzaga, etc., and being viewed as the favorite, especially when it says Coach K has made Banchero one of his top priorities. Not sure how often K loses a recruiting battle when he badly wants a kid, but I'm betting his batting average is rather high there.

Agree, but I remember looking up Barnes recruiting when he was hired here. From 2002 to 2015, he recruited more five stars than anyone not named Cal, K, Roy or Self. That's why I was so disappointed with the early recruiting. Then I looked up the staff composition and the guys who were the real hot shot recruiters didn't come with Barnes to Tennessee. The replacement of Lanier with the energetic guys like Schwartz and English has really ignited things.

Deacon is sort of a big deal.

I guess Lanier's progressive downward trend and eventual bust at Siena was a clue, also. And Chris Ogden sucked, too. As recruiters, of course. I'm sure they're good guys.
