Thanks for setting this up. I think Pons leaving has everything to do with how bad this draft is on paper right now. After the top 5, there are multiple gaping weaknesses in every player. And some of the perceived top 5 are more flawed than most would like. When 2 or 3 players drafted in the top 10 would’ve played in the NCAA tournament, that tells you all you need to know. still though, I love Pons, but even in this field he is probably a late 2nd round guy - right? Seems like he should come back, work on his three point shot and enjoy one last college season. Do you think there’s downside for Pons returning in that his role on this team could be diminished vs last year. The newcomers will have the ball and taking more shots than the guys they are replacing.

That is how he will be making his living.

That is how he will be making his living. I do think there are a few downsides. The first being that he gets hurt. But that’s life. Play ball. The second being that his catch and shoot three point percentage falls due to lack of reps. He probably won’t win defensive player of the year again (this is just based on my own judgement that they can’t let it happen), and I automatically think minutes will at best stay the same due to more depth. All in all he will become a better basketball player coming back this year. And I am usually on the side of the NBA and their developmental league is far better than college hoops in getting players better. I’m just not sure his stock gets any higher unless he has exponential development in ball handling and shooting off the dribble.
