My inside source was as close to the situation as one could be (without being the player)!

It’s honestly the right thing to do. He is a prime medical redshirt candidate. Don’t mess around with feet. Get them fixed.
Like some have said. I think this completely eliminates any logjam concerns. This team needs to stay healthy. Which also means whenever Barnes gets a chance, he needs to sit guys down. Up 20 with six to go? Keep rotating don’t just stick with five.
Dubar has to think he is getting a second chance at big minutes and capitalize. Should revitalize him.

If Okpara is capable of giving us 25 a night, what do the other 15 look like? Is it as simple as Phillips playing the 5 for 15 minutes, and they are never on the court together?

Sad news. How is it more news is broke here than…. In fairness, I think 247 does a good job reporting news. Either the staff did not share or confirm any of this with them, or they may have asked the 247 writers not to share it yet.

Seeing how happy Estrella was with his teammates when they were celebrating Chaz’ eruption against Baylor, when he knew his own season was over, says a lot about him.

I just hope it’s as straightforward as “fixing” his foot.

Unless somebody else gets hurt, we should be fine. All of our bigs can play the five and two of the three normally play the four . Also Dubar and Mashack are not strangers to playing the four . Most teams historically play a seven eight man rotation for all practical purposes against better competition . We have lost depth which was going to be a big plus but we didn’t have that advantage in the past and had success.

If Okpara is capable of giving us 25 a night, what do the other 15 look like? Is it as simple as Phillips playing the 5 for 15 minutes, and they are never on the court together? Igor is the other 5. With Dubar and Phillips splitting the 4 while he is on the court. Edit: Okpara cannot close most games. His free throw shooting can’t let that happen. So the closing lineup needs to be ZZ, Mashack, Lanier, Phillips/Dubar, Igor. The caveat here is Gainey is doing a really good job and could insert for Lanier or Mashack depending on matchup. That’s almost the whole team. A really good sign. Think about the Grant and Admiral team. It was a set five to end every game.
