Maybe it will do him some good and he can contribute off the bench.

Seeing on TOS he’s in Ricky’s doghouse I hope that is just someone pretending to know something.

with this delay football kickoff, my two cents worth... If Darlinstone has any issue, that seals the deal for this lineup:
Zakai Zeigler Chaz Lanier Jahmai Mashack Igor Milicic Jr. Felix Okpara
The only reasonable argument to a different lineup might be the outliers who like the coaches' son at the 2 spot

Reading between the lines of previous articles and practice recaps, Dubar hasn't been much of a factor to this point anyway.

Carr is gonna start... or at least be top 5 in minutes

Carr is gonna start... or at least be top 5 in minutes I think so too. If he doesn’t start in game 1, I think he’ll start eventually.

Not sure what I expected from Dubar. All I can say is that it is perhaps one thing to star at Hofstra and another to make the regular lineup at UT. I had heard that he was a very efficient scorer at Hofstra but I don't know how he was on defense. I don't think Barnes would have taken him in the first place if he was a notoriously bad defender, so it may just be one of those personal lack of communication things. I would have thought he could be a help if he had a proper understanding of his role, but that may be the problem.

I just don't see how a player good enough to do that can't at least contribute for us.

The Hofstra point isn't wrong, per se, but it could have also been said about Knecht coming from Northern Colorado. Each situation is different. Some guys improve so much in college that a jump like that isn't a huge one for them. Others look really good until they face upper level competition. The portal is a crapshoot, much like HS recruiting can be. You just hope you hit on most of them.

Except there was NBA buzz about Dalton before he got here.

I think Barnes has warmed to the idea (maybe not embraced it) that he can teach defense to an offensive guy, but some guys say the right stuff when they’re being recruited… “I’ll work hard, I promise!”… and then don’t, at least starting off. This may be what’s going on with Dubar . I have no problem with Barnes sending — oh wait…I’m Glenstorm and I approve this message.

Except there was NBA buzz about Dalton before he got here. Yes, but the point remains. Some guys flourish when moving up a level in college. Others are E.J. Anosike…
