I believe Sechrist is the scheduled starter, and we'll see how much rope TV and FA give him.
The nice thing is the series win is already secured. However, to keep pace for the SEC regular season title, we really need to finish today with a sweep.
First pitch is 3:02 eastern, so in about 10 minutes.
Edit: Vols win, 8-4, and get our first SEC sweep of the season. Tennessee moves to 30-6, 10-5 in the SEC, and may even move up a spot in the rankings (in one of the FIVE polls that are used, LOL). UT moves to 30-6 overall, 10-5 in SEC play (which is still FOUR games behind 14-1 UK).
The Vols host Bellarmine Tuesday night, and play at the Wildcats next weekend.
LSU outhit the Vols in the first two games, and UT only had one more hit than the Tigers today. But we got a helpful. We really need to win the series at UK to have much of a chance at competing for the regular season title.

A strikeout from Sechrist starts the game off.

Burke's wind-aided two run shot gives us the 2-0 lead.
LSU gets one back on a missed opportunity to end the inning with a pickoff that had the runner caught but the throw from Burke to 2B was high and the next batter singled to score him.
The Vols are up in the B4, leading 2-1.

Nothing for the Vols in the 4th, so we move to the 5th, still leading 2-1.

LSU doesn't have one of the better hitting lineups in the SEC, but their pitching staff has done a pretty good job on the Vols to this point in the series.

Sechrist has done a good job thru five complete innings, and the Vols come to bat in the bottom half, up 2-1.

The Vols get noting in the B5.
IMO, if we don't get another run or two, we won't hang on.

Sechrist starts the inning off well, getting White to ground out, 5-3. Jones is another dangerous hitter - grounds out to SS, 4-3. Travinski ties the game on a HR. Larson singles, but is gunned trying to stretch it for two.
But the Vols have given up the tying run.
LSU may be challenging the call at 2B. Honestly, it looks from the first angle I've seen like LSU has a good case. The call is reversed, which appears correct to me.
We're going to make a switch, as Sechrist is starting to tire. But Zander threw a pretty strong 5 2/3.

After Moore hit a solo homer a couple of innings ago to break a 2-2 tie, he just hit a two out three run jack to put the Vols up 6-2 in the B7.
Moore has 15 dingers on the season I believe.

I thought Burke’s hit after that was going to put a hole in the wall he hit it so hard.

T8, we'll see if they stick with Connell to start the inning and monitor him. He's a guy that can go an inning or two, but you really have to watch him because once guys adjust to his change of pace, he can start getting tattooe'd and you can't just let him get eaten alive.
Leadoff single, just a ground ball up the middle, but I would seriously only give him one more hitter to see what happens, and if he doesn't get an out, pull him.
And on cue, Connell gives up a crushed homer and it's 6-4. Connell has to be pulled now, surely.

Vols have runners on 1B and 2B with two outs and Stark coming to bat. LSU is making a pitching change. I'm curious to see if Tony V. decides to stick with Stark, or bring in a lefty hitter and then drop Peebles in at catcher. With a two run lead, you'd like to stick with your best defensive catcher for the top of the 9th, but I think Peebles and Stark are close enough defensively that letting a lefty hitter try to give us another insurance run here might make sense.
Edit: We're sticking with Stark, and that's not a bad call at all. Cal has really improved as a hitter this season.

Wow, a skied fly to shallow CF swirls around enough in the wind I guess that none of the three LSU players could catch it. And the Vols lead 8-4. Huge.

We move to the top of the 9th with the Vols up 8-4.
Combs comes in and K's two, should have gotten the called third strike on the corner on the third batter, but got him to ground out softly to Burke to end the game.
Vols win, 8-4, and get our first SEC sweep of the season. Tennessee moves to 30-6, 10-5 in the SEC, and may even move up a spot in the rankings (in one of the FIVE polls that are used, LOL).
