Has anyone seen many ads on here yet? I know it’s only been up for a day or so, but I’ve yet to really have any. I was hunting around here yesterday pdl, and saw pricing plans for removing ads. My assumption was that folks could chose to pay and remove their own ads, but after looking at it, it almost appeared to be that if anyone paid the $6 a month, the entire forum goes ad-free until we trip the 50,000 view point, then the pricing increases or the ads come back until the next month cycles.
Also, I don’t want to turn this into a 17 page pat on the back for pdl, but a huge thanks for putting this together for us. With how quickly folks have already jumped on here only a day or so after it’s been created, I’m really confident we can keep Hoopsville alive! You need to make your avitar The Godfather, as you’ve now taken the reigns as The Godfather of the Masterpiece Theatre of the Internet. Hat tip to GVT and smyrna and all the others that helped start this thing and keep it alive by showing up and posting right away.

I don't know much about this site - so I just threw this together. It looks a little 2002-esque but I'm not a web designer. Any suggestions are welcome. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I guess an option to edit posts would be helpful. And not that I think we should go over to the Checkerboard and openly post about this site, but it won't make me sad if they know that this site exists eventually. I feel like they failed to appreciate the way they mishandled the matter of ending Hoopsville with no notice and wouldn't even acknowledge that aspect of it when I discussed it via pm. Finally, are we unable to use the old "Hoopsville" name for this site? I like the "Orange Striped Warmups" name too, just wondered if we were prohibited from using "Hoopsville", since it is what we've all known for so long. |

ok, I added a plug in to convert image links into images. jpg, png and gifs should convert automatically.
it looks like it worked on on of GVTs posts....

Duh, I just missed it somehow - the edit button was right there. I think in looking for it I accidentally looked at a post right above mine instead of my own post. I've reached out to another 247 poster to let him know about this site. Hopefully he'll check it out. |

Hey everyone - I just today realized that Hoopsville didn't exist anymore. How sad! I saw AFVol on VolNation and followed some bread crumbs back to my 247 account where I saw this site link in my inbox (thanks for the invite!).
Hope everyone here is well. I stopped going to Hoopsville because, 1) it was obvious they were phasing out the free board, and 2) it was painful reading through threads where half the responses said something like "We don't like you because you don't pay for a membership so we're displaying this annoying message in place of the paying member's post". I do greatly miss the awesome threads we had over there and the knowledge you guys bring.
